Nature is exaltation of colors and sounds; colors and sounds are, their way, first emotions’ spring and images’ panders. Geir Jennsen aka Biosphere, with Manuel Zurria (wind instruments) and Gianluca Ruggeri (percussion), spent two weeks travelling on the Mekong, in Vietnam, immersed into the landscape’s sonority, beats, birdsongs, the wind whoosh, the dialogue of the running water. A journey that seems going towards the origins of music, crossing a musical  genre which admits a “Naturalistic trend in music”, getting along with the musicologist and composer François-Bernard Mâche, who considers some species of bird kind of colleagues! Biosphere’s music is defined as Artic Ambient and Ambient Techno, rich in Nordic sonorities, experimentations and rhythms close to the Dance Floor. In concert they propose sonorous tableau, evocation of melodic places, sampling of the scenery’s sounds accompanied by traditional instruments. A music dedicated to nature and to her deep contemplation suggests us to reflect about the essence of sound, song, rhythm and language, fascinating, still mysterious. La natura è esaltazione di colori e di suoni; colori e suoni sono, a loro volta, le prime sorgenti d’emozioni e procacciatori d’immagini. Geir Jennsen aka Biosphere, insieme a Manuel Zurria (strumenti a fiato) e Gianluca Ruggeri (percussioni) hanno trascorso due settimane navigando in battello il Mekong, in Vietnam, immersi nella sonorità del paesaggio, tra pulsazioni, canti di uccelli, il fruscio del vento, il dialogo dell’acqua che scorre. Un viaggio che pare andare verso le origini della musica, attraversando un filone musicale che riconosce un “Naturalistic trend in music”, d’accordo con il musicologo e compositore François-Bernard Mâche che considera certe specie di uccelli dei colleghi! La musica di Biosphere viene definita come Artic Ambient e Ambient Techno, ricca di sonorità nordiche, sperimentazioni e ritmi vicini al Dance Floor. In concerto propongono tavole sonore, evocazioni di luoghi melodici, con campionature dei suoni del paesaggio accompagnati da strumenti tradizionali. Una musica dedicata alla natura e  alla sua profonda contemplazione ci suggerisce di riflettere circa l’essenza del suono, del canto, del ritmo e del linguaggio, affascinanti, ancora misteriosi. The Taster’s Choice was born in Livorno at the end of 1999, after writing a promo cd of 5 songs begins a process of maturation by the addition of new elements in the band from Daniel in which the singer.  Fabrizio Pagni joined the band using synths and loops and making the electronics within the band and subsequently takes over as guitarist Luke Pezzini. Over time the band’s style changed from crossover to a Tribal Metal-core (usually then called by the band), a result emphasized the groove created by a mix of drums and percussion, sharp guitar riffs and electronics. Moreover, the two vocalists in the band range from the rhythmic screams hip hop, without forgetting the more melodic passages. ”Shining”, the band’s debut album, was released in 2005 with the German label Shark Records (Sepultura in 1988, Horrorscope, Calm, Virgin Steel, Warlock) in Europe and Gencross Records (SmaXone, Machine Men, Northern Light) in Asian territories. The group, from the early months of 2005 with only one singer after the death of Marco Bassini, continues to compose new songs and playing live, to help with international artists the likes of Terror, 30 Seconds To Mars, Aiden and Kent until at end of 2007, the Taster’s Choice back in the studio for recording, at Db Studios in Turin, the second full-length. The production is carried out by Ettore Rigotti (Disarmonia Mundi) while mixing and mastering is done at the Studio Adrenaline (Livorno) from David and Daniel in Bitozzi.  In early 2008 Tommy Antonini joined the band as a second rhythm guitar. After several months the Taster’s Choice receive an offer for “The Rebirth” by Bagan records, one of the best independent record labels Italian. The band accepts the proposal with much enthusiasm the label, which brings out the second disc of Taster’s Choice in May 2009.  In December the band released the official music video “Make your game” under the direction of Salvatore Perrone, field director said in metal.

I Taster’s choice nascono a Livorno alla fine del 1999, dopo aver realizzato un promo cd di 5 tracce inizia un processo di maturazione con l’aggiunta di nuovi elementi nella Band tra cui il cantante Daniele Nelli. Fabrizio Pagni si unisce alla band utilizzando synth e loops e apportando l’elettronica all’interno della band e successivamente subentra Luke Pezzini come chitarrista. Col passare del tempo lo stile della band passa da crossover a un Tribal Metal-core(genere allora definito dalla band), un risultato di groove enfatizzato creato da un mix di batteria e percussioni, riff taglienti di chitarra e elettronica. Inoltre i due vocalist della band spaziano dagli screams alle ritmiche hip hop, senza dimenticare i passaggi più melodici. “Shining”, disco di debutto della band, esce nel 2005 con l’etichetta tedesca Shark Records(Sepultura nel 1988, Horrorscope, Calm, Virgin Steel, Warlock) in Europa e con Gencross Records(SmaXone, Machine Men, Northern Light) nei territori asiatici.  Il gruppo, dai primi mesi del 2005 con un solo cantante dopo l’addio di Marco Bassini, continua a comporre nuove canzoni e a suonare dal vivo, come supporto ad artisti internazionali del calibro di Terror, 30 Seconds To Mars, Aiden e Afterhours finchè Alla fine del 2007, i Taster’s Choice tornano in studio per la registrazione, presso Db studios di Torino, del secondo full-length. La produzione è affidata a Ettore Rigotti(Disarmonia Mundi) mentre il mixaggio e mastering viene effettuato presso l’Adrenaline Studio (Livorno) da Daniele Nelli e Davide Bitozzi. Nei primi mesi del 2008 Tommy Antonini si unisce alla band come seconda chitarra ritmica. Dopo alcuni mesi i Taster’s Choice ricevono un offerta per “The Rebirth” da Bagana records, una delle migliori etichette discografiche indipendenti italiane. La band accetta con molto entusiasmo la proposta dell’etichetta, che fa uscire il secondo disco dei Taster’s Choice nel maggio del 2009. Nel mese di dicembre la band ha realizzato il videoclip ufficiale di “Make your game” sotto la direzione di Salvatore Perrone, regista affermato in campo metal.

Genre’s labels don’t find any spot or time for this refined and talented trio. Their music is impatient to experiment. Acoustic and electro, it revolves around to techno’ environments, together with free insertions of improvisations and echoes of baroque note’s. A continuous melodic work in progress, engaging and involving. Here they are: Rami Khalife and Francesco Tristano, (pianists and composers, Juilliard School trained, passionate of electronic music), along with Aymeric Westrich (drummer), while the two elegant pianos deal on the scene. If the piano is a “machine”, then the pianists explore each sounding possibility, recalling John Cage technique of “prepared piano”, harnessing its percussion characteristics and not only. Among frequent collaborations of Francesco Tristano with musicians coming from the actual dance atmospheres, like Murcof, Moritz von Oswald and Carl Craig, in 2005 Aufgang received the attention of Jeff Mills (who’s The Bells appears as a cover in the Francesco’s album Not for Piano), taking them to the Sonar Festival of Barcelona, where the band officially started. Now the album’s release, freely inspired. You look for Sonar, InFinè Discograph. Must-have!

Etichette di genere non trovano spazio e non trovano tempo per questo trio raffinato e ricco di talento. La loro musica è impaziente di sperimentare. Acustica ed elettronica, ruota attorno agli ambienti house e techno, con disinvolte parabole di improvvisazioni e richiami a note barocche. Un continuo work in progress melodico, accattivante e coinvolgente. Sono Rami Khalife e Francesco Tristano, (pianisti e compositori, Juilliard School di formazione, amanti della musica elettronica), accompagnati, mentre i due eleganti piani a coda si confrontano sul palco, da Aymeric Westrich (batterista). Se il pianoforte è una “macchina”, i pianisti ne esplorano ogni possibilità sonora, ricordando la tecnica del “piano preparato” utilizzata da John Cage, sfruttandone le caratteristiche percussive e non solo. Tra le frequenti collaborazioni di Francesco Tristano con musicisti delle scene dance contemporane, come Murcof, Moritz von Oswald e Carl Craig, Aufgang ha catturato nel 2005 l’attenzione di Jeff Mills (del quale The Bells compare come cover nell’album Not for Piano di Francesco) che li porta al Sonar Festival di Barcellona segnando la nascita ufficiale del gruppo. Esce adesso, liberamente ispirato, l’album Sonar, per l’etichetta InFinè. Must-have!

Taster Peter is a producer and DJ born in Genova and raised in Livorno, in a musical family, where he attended the ‘Mascagni Music Institute’, where first he played the violin, later on changed to guitar and double bass, and finally he decided to start with the drums. His drummer carrer started at 16 and for 10 years he was the drummer of “Taster’s Choice”: a well known Metal/Pop Italian band with 2 albums released worldwide (EU – US – JAP territories) with whom he shared stages with great bands like 30 Seconds to Mars, Aiden, Afterhours, Linea77, Terror and many more. Around 1998 electronic music caught his attention and getting deeper into this music, Peter developed an interest in techno and house that induced him to build up a small studio to produce his own music towards the end of 2006. In 2008 ‘Audiorama EP’ was released on Hell Yeah Recordings, and was picked up by the best Dj’s of the globe. This release was followed up by ‘Metro Sexual // Elephant & Castle EP’ on the German label Vi Tv Records. The vinyl release was an incredible success, it was sold out in the first 20 days. This release suggested Peter was a true talent, in 2009 ‘Fat of Excellence EP’ released on Hell Yeah confirmed it. The EP is an exclusive remix package of unreleased Taster Peter remixes for techno don UMEK, Berlin supreme OLIVER KOLETZKI, Slovenian TOMY DECLERQUE and Italian kraut-rockers du jour CRIMEA X. As a live performer Peter travels all his national territory and in Europe in cities like Berlin, Ibiza, Barcelona and London many times. He is equally renowned for his remix work, and artists like Umek, Oliver Koletzki, Tomy DeClerque, Dyno and Marco Bailey & Tom Hades have asked him to put together remixes for them. Peter is a part of “The Zapping Kills”: a side project between Taster Peter & MoOB. The project is composed by Taster Peter’s loops played live and mixed with 2 decks by MoOb! The result is a 100% amazing sound where you can’t say NO to dance! “It’s Time to kick ass and chew bubble gum…”

Taster Peter è un produttore e Dj nato a Genova e cresciuto a Livorno, in una famiglia di musicisti, dove ha frequentato l’Istituto Musicale Mascagni’ e dove ha studiato prima violino e in seguito chitarra e contrabbasso per cimentarsi infine con la batteria. Intorno al 1998 la musica elettronica attira la sua attenzione e appassionandosi sempre più a questa, sviluppa un interesse per la techno e la house che lo porta verso la fine del 2006, Êad aprire un piccolo studio per produrre. E’ altrettanto noto per il suo lavoro di remix, e artisti come Umek, Oliver Koletzki, Tomy DeClerque, Dyno e Marco Bailey & Tom Hades gli hanno chiesto di mettere insieme remix per loro. Taster Peter fa parte dei “The Kills Zapping”: un progetto parallelo tra Taster Peter & MoOB. Il progetto è composto da loops di Taster Peter suonati dal vivo e mixati a due mani da MoOb! It seems a manifesto about how to live our times with consciousness. It is the last musical project of Mariapia De Vito, eclectic jazz musician and cultured tester of several sounding languages.The lyrics poetically grow through innermost reflections, a trip in the private dimension in contact with an aseptic, “sticky”, reality that cages the man with his possibilities and aspirations. But once you’ve passed this GAP, existential hiatus between essence and appearance, you come out from the fog of illusions and land to bright intimate spots. The musicality is processed and the album touches the contemporary complexity by the aid of electro music. It experiments with intense expressions famous cover (from If six was nine by Jimy Hendrix to Hiden Place by Bjšrk) and it creates interesting original pieces, where the music become sounding root of languages and place for meditation.

Sembra essere un manifesto su come vivere la nostra epoca con consapevolezza. E’ l’ultimo progetto musicale di Mariapia De Vito, jazzista eclettica e sperimentatrice colta di diversi linguaggi sonori. I testi si snodano poeticamente su riflessioni intime, in un viaggio nella dimensione privata a contatto con un’asettica, “collosa”, realtà che ingabbia l’uomo con le sue possibilità e aspirazioni. Ma una volta superato questo GAP, iato esistenziale tra essenza ed apparenza, si riappartiene a se stessi, si esce dalla nebbia delle illusioni approdando a luminosi paesaggi interiori. Musicalmente elaborato, l’album coglie la complessità contemporanea con l’ausilio della musica elettronica. Sperimenta con intensa espressività cover famose (da If six was nine di Jimi Hendrix a Hidden Place di Bjšrk) e crea interessanti brani originali, dove la musica diventa radice sonora di linguaggi e luogo di raccoglimento.
